Current situation of titanium and titanium alloy standards in China

With China's accession to the WTO, the domestic and foreign markets integration, titanium demand is also increasing. Our country titanium resources are rich, the processing ability is stronger, the cost is low, the product quality is good, therefore our country titanium material has certain competition ability in the international market. Although the current export volume is not too large, but if we make full use of the advantages of all aspects, in the standard system as soon as possible with international standards, remove barriers, open channels for the export of products, pave the way, China's titanium in the international market place in the near future. Standard is the basis of expanding market, expanding application field and increasing market share. Although from start to develop and expand, titanium industry in China has developed for nearly forty years, and the standard from the establishment, development has experienced nearly thirty years, but due to the rapid development of science and technology changes with each passing day, titanium standard system in our country is still not perfect, and in some ways do not coordinate with advanced foreign standards, the rapid development of titanium industry in China. Standard titanium industry in China started in the early 1970 s, is the former Soviet union model of the system, in the early 80 s, with the technical progress of titanium industry and civilian needs, on the basis of the original addition to mark to make the transition to international standards (west), to form the national standard system, including two national standard and national military standard system. With the deepening of the reform and opening up, in order to facilitate the material replacement, titanium exports, technical exchanges, we in the early 85's part of the national standard was revised. However, due to the current status of China's titanium industry, the number of titanium alloy brands included in the national standard is limited. At the same time, in the 1990s, it mainly focused on the revision of the national standard, and the formulation of new standards was rare, especially the basic standards were not sound. So far, China has 25 national standards for titanium (GB/T6612 and GB/T6613 have been discontinued), and 20 national military standards. Currently, there is no titanium sub-standard committee in the international standardization committee (ISO), and there is no corresponding titanium standard except the titanium standard for surgical implants formulated by the four TC150 sub-standards committees. Standards used in trade between countries are mainly those of the United States, Japan, Russia and Germany. The standard system of the United States, the main system containing titanium standards include: ASTM,AMS,MIL,ASME,AWS and so on. The titanium standards are mainly ASTM,AMS,ASME,AWS and other systems. ASTM includes 22 titanium standards, including 9 standards for surgical implants. There are about 89 standards for AMS titanium, including a large number of new alloys. All newly developed titanium alloys in the United States are standardized through AMS. In 2001, the Japanese standard system comprehensively revised the titanium standard system, integrated the titanium processed materials of the original standard system in accordance with the ASTM standard system widely adopted in the world, adjusted the chemical composition, and added 12 kinds of titanium alloys independently developed to the new JIS standard. Russian and German standards have changed little in recent years, with few new revisions. Although titanium series standards system has been developed in our country, but compared with foreign advanced national standards system, there are many insufficiencies, mainly manifested in the following aspects: 1, the standard system is not perfect, there is lack of item (1) product standards, titanium and titanium alloy extruded tube ribbed tube, titanium and titanium alloy, titanium and titanium alloy sheet, titanium and titanium alloy profile, titanium and titanium alloy fittings, such as titanium powder standard has not formulated; (2) inspection methods: determination of phase transition point of titanium alloy, surface contamination layer of titanium alloy, eddy current inspection of titanium and titanium alloy bars, ultrasonic inspection of titanium and titanium alloy products with thickness of 6-13mm
